These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Real Estate Ready website and services operated by HandyPeople Victoria. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Services

Real Estate Ready provides pre-listing home preparation services, including but not limited to:

  • Minor repairs and maintenance
  • Painting and touch-up work
  • Fixture updates and replacements
  • Flooring repairs
  • General home improvement for sale preparation

Quotes and Pricing

  • All quotes are estimates based on the information provided and initial assessment
  • Final pricing may vary based on actual conditions discovered during work
  • Significant scope changes will be communicated and approved before proceeding
  • Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued

Payment Terms

  • A deposit may be required for larger projects
  • Balance is due upon completion of work
  • We accept major credit cards, e-transfer, and cheques
  • Late payments may incur additional fees

Scheduling and Cancellation

  • We strive to meet all agreed-upon timelines
  • Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice may incur a fee
  • Weather or unforeseen circumstances may affect outdoor work schedules
  • We will communicate any scheduling changes promptly

48-Hour Guarantee

Our 48-hour completion guarantee applies to standard projects within our Bronze, Silver, and Gold packages. This guarantee is subject to:

  • Property access being available as scheduled
  • No significant undisclosed issues discovered during work
  • Weather conditions (for exterior work)
  • Material availability

If we fail to complete work within the guaranteed timeframe due to our fault, you will receive 10% off your next project with us.

Warranty

We stand behind our work:

  • Workmanship is warranted for 90 days from completion
  • Warranty covers defects in our work, not normal wear or misuse
  • Product warranties are per manufacturer terms
  • Warranty claims must be reported within 7 days of discovery

Limitations of Liability

  • Our services are limited to the scope agreed upon in writing
  • We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions not disclosed or discovered during assessment
  • ROI projections and value estimates are based on market data and are not guaranteed
  • We are not liable for decisions made by buyers or sale outcomes

Insurance

Real Estate Ready maintains comprehensive general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage. Proof of insurance is available upon request.

Property Access

By engaging our services, you authorize us to:

  • Access the property during agreed-upon times
  • Make reasonable use of utilities (water, electricity)
  • Store materials and equipment on-site during the project

Photography

We may photograph our work for documentation and marketing purposes. No identifying information (address, personal items) will be shared without permission. If you prefer not to have your project photographed for marketing, please inform us.

Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, images, and design, is the property of HandyPeople Victoria and may not be reproduced without permission.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from our services will be resolved through:

  1. Direct communication with our management team
  2. Mediation if direct resolution is unsuccessful
  3. Binding arbitration in Victoria, BC if mediation fails

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of modified Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada.
